Donnelly Announces Grant for Low-Income Indiana Veteran Housing

Congressman Joe Donnelly announced that Community Action of Northeast Indiana received a $353,000 grant to help provide supportive services to low-income veteran families living in or transitioning to permanent housing. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) awarded the grant through their Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program.

Housing for Veteran's“We owe a debt of gratitude to our veterans and their families because their sacrifices have helped provide us with the many freedoms we enjoy,” said Donnelly. “I am pleased that the Community Action of Northeast Indiana received this grant because their work to improve the housing stability of low-income veteran families is important. I encourage veterans to contact my office if we can be of assistance in any way and I thank all veterans in north central Indiana for their service.”

 Community Action of Northeast Indiana, headquartered in Fort Wayne, Indiana, plans to use the grant resources to serve approximately 135 participant households in northeast Indiana counties, including households in Cass County and St. Joseph County. Donnelly represents those counties in Congress.

Donnelly has served on the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs since 2007.
