State of Indiana Looking to Contract With Veteran-Owned Businesses
On April 25, 2013, Governor Mike Pence signed SEA 564, expanding veteran-owned small business opportunities in Indiana. The law will be effective July 1, 2013.
He wants the state of Indiana to do more business with military veterans. Beginning July 1, the state will implement a goal to contract 3 percent of its work with veteran-owned small businesses. Governor Pence is encouraging veterans now to register their companies with the state.
A new state law requires the Indiana Department of Administration to procure at least 3 percent of state contracts with veteran-owned small businesses.
Pence says veteran-owned businesses that are not registered with agency should go to this website to become registered vendors.
This is great news for Indiana veterans!
